The Big Crunch

The Big Crunch painting by Dan Aug representing the collapse of the universe

"The Big Crunch" – (acrylics on canvas 120 cm x 100 cm) – This work is inspired by one of the major cosmological theories about the fate of the universe. The Big Crunch proposes that cosmic expansion may eventually reverse, leading all matter, galaxies and spacetime to collapse inward into a final singular state — a possible end of the universe.

The painting translates this idea into visual tension and compression, representing a universe that does not expand forever, but ultimately returns into itself.
