Daniel Augusto Chiesa, internationally known as Dan Aug, was born in Uruguay in 1956 to Italian parents. His lifelong devotion to science, technology, electronics, and astronomy profoundly shaped his artistic identity. He lived in Italy and the United States before returning to Montevideo, Uruguay, where he continues to develop his artistic and scientific work.

A Fusion of Science and Creativity

With a background in physics, electronics, and astronomy, Dan Aug cultivated a strong interest in space exploration, eventually embedding cosmic and scientific concepts into every stage of his artistic evolution. Beginning his formal artistic path in 2002, he rapidly gained recognition for his distinctive cosmic vision and multidimensional approach to art.

Achievements and International Recognition

In 2005, his artwork "Xanadu Joyful Day" earned first prize in an international competition organized by The Planetary Society and the European Space Agency (ESA). The event celebrated the landing of the Huygens probe (Cassini mission) on Titan, Saturn’s largest moon. His artwork was subsequently exhibited at the European Space Agency Operations Center in Darmstadt, Germany, at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, and at NASA facilities in the United States.
